Progressions

Wolves in the Forest [ Print Available ] This work was done with ArtRage 2 over the space of about 4 months.  It was a great learning experience because I learned how to make consistent progress even though I had scheduled several ambitious projects at the same time.

Mexican Wolf HS1 [ Print Available ]  This is my first work using ArtRage 2.  It was referenced from one of the Mexican Wolves at Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek Michigan, USA  After creating this image I then realized that I would soon step back into my role as an artist.  Thank you Ambient Design for an awesome digital paint program!

Furocious Knight [ Print Available ] This is an image done for the cover of the first episode to be released of my upcoming Furocious Epic.  This project was over 18 years in the making when I did this image in ArtRage 2.

Wolf Sequence 001b

Wolf Sequence 001b [ Print Available ] This is one of a series of prints I'm doing.  Again this was done with ArtRage 2.  And it is referenced from the Mexican wolves at Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek Michigan.

Wolf Sequence 002  [ Print Available ] This work was done over about three months.  I am featuring several different poses to add to the interest to the collective compositions.  This wolf is caught in mid-stretch.

Wolf Sequence 002B

Wolf Sequence 002B This second edition of Wolf Sequence 002 was done to show that the images may have the background reworked to match the colors specially requested by commission.  This is advantageous for someone interested in a piece matching the decor of their home or office.

Wolf Sequence 003 [ Print Available ] I love the Mexican Wolves at Binder Park Zoo. It's great to catch a glimpse of pack life with each visit. Currently there are 5 wolves at the zoo.

In the wolf sequence series I'm not trying to capture the look of each one though that would be a great idea for the future. After a while you begin to distinguish the individual wolves. If you watch long enough you even begin to see their personalities come to light.

With the wolf sequence project am just going through interesting poses from my reference photos and videos.

Wolf Sequence 004

Wolf Sequence 004 [ Print Available ] This pose comes from one of my favorite reference shots.  This wolf was gnawing on a snack.
